JANUARY 3 What up people. We've been having a great time playing shows and getting our stuff together with the new horns that we have. This is all because WE ARE PUTTING A CD OUT!!!...I know everyone is excited about that and so are we. Most likely it will be about 6 songs or so, and the first 500 will be special editions, so be sure to get a hold of us and get your hands on one. We start recording on the weekend of Jan. 9, hopefully the CD will be out ASAP. Other than that, we've been playing shows and practicing a ton, so it's gonna sound good. Thanks for supportin' and keep coming to shows.
NOVEMBER ? What's up everyone! Skalloween was fucking amazing. that's all i can say...so many people...damn. Well, most of the same bands are playing the cove again on december 27 so buy tix early because this time they are only letting 200 into each show (2 shows on that day!!!). also, we have tons of other phat shows coming up. if you noticed at the skavoovie show we got a brand new drummer so be prepared for a tighter plum. later guys.
OCTOBER 25 Alright...we've got our costumes ready to roll and we're going to regulate big time at the cove show on skalloween. you have to be there!!! check the shows page...we're playing w/ skavoovie.
OCTOBER 12 Ok...bob here again. The Skoidats show was amazing. the crowd was great and a shout out to Foil and the Skoidats. Also, thanks to whoever took pictures (casey! and someone else). I updated the survey...it's pretty much the same...except it reflects what a stud mike scher is. a recording date confirmed??? yeah...this time for real. we're doing a tape. later. OCTOBER 2 Hey everyone. finally updating the old page. thanks for still coming to the old page. i'll give you guys a rundown of the summer. we played 16 shows in august. that's awesome and we were really excited about that. New members added this summer: Chris on bass. Ross the boss on drums. Russ on guitar (he'll have his first show w/ us on oct. 16.) Also, our old trombone player is back and he'll play w/ us on oct. 10 and 31st. We've got lots of shows still coming up. In addition, our record label, Plum Records, is doing a comp so contact me if interested. We're putting out 3000 of these suckas so we'll see how it goes. oh yeah, lots of updates will come this week. later.
AUGUST 5 what's up everyone? we played a total of 4 shows this weekend! we're beat but it was so much fun! definately worth it. thanks to everyone who came out and a big shout-out to STRAIGHT ON RED! get their demo. Basically, we have a TON of new shows coming up. on the 21st we're headlining so please come support us. later guys, bob plum
JULY 30 As of this second, we are going into the studio august 10th and 11th to record some musica. Should be interesting. We're planning on doing a comp. w/ rudegirl records and releasing a split - something w/ somebody. Still working on that as far as that goes. If interested, contact me! We're also eagerly awaiting the school year to see what that does for us. I'm very optimistic but i think i'm the only one. Oh well. It'll work out. it always does. Oh, if you're really bored...i'm updating ALL of the links and making sure they all work and such...so check that out. later.
JUNE 30 I'm blaming it on my computer. Well, we've got a brand new bassist and we're back in action. We're finally playing lots of shows so check our page for that (and thank chris for hooking us up.) I'm going to be adding new pics this week and get ready for another release because we're getting a recording date this week. We promise this one won't suck. later.
MAY 28 Finally got this thing to work..i hope. If you didn't know...Steve (alto sax), Karen (biotch and keys), and Jeff (bass) all left the band. Some of them are still going to play a few shows with us but we need to try out people for these positions so if you are interested (or play bari sax) please contact me through e-mail. Thanks to everyone at the Villa Skate Park (and losinground for hooking us up w/ the show) because we had such a great time at the show. we were blown away by the crowd. later guys.
MAY 10 Hey guys..i'm back from everything. well, europe was awesome! i had a great time w/ my brother and my family and even got to go to 2 shows...one which i hope i forget. Uz Zme Doma are a great Czech band that you should all check out if they come around. A great Czech band that just released a new CD is a band called Sto Zvirat. I'm going to add their link next week so check them out. Anyway, if you check the shows page...we're playing again. Please come support us. Like always, we're looking for time to get into the studio. I've got mad loot now so recording should be easier and we'll be able to redeem ourselves for our demos (yuck!!!!). Also, please help us get shows together in june..we don't have anything yet. The Catch 22 CD is so good!!! Thanks a lot guys for thanking us! Go out to your local record store and buy two! I got the demo tape from the new Royalties CD and it sounds great as well. APRIL 2 Hey guys...about last week....I couldn't make it to the Cove show because i got stuck in NYC when my dad's van broke down in the Lincoln Tunnel. The band played without me and did i great job (even though they talked major shite about me...oh well..). We also had to cancel saturday because we had no van..well...onto vacation. For now, we're going to work on about 5 or 6 new songs and add them into our rotation for shows. Our first is May 2nd some come out and support! Yo bitch ass! did you get the catch 22 cd yet??? well...GO!
MARCH 22 Guess what everyone...because i'm going to Europe and other people are doing whatever...we're taking the month of April off. SO, please go to our last show in the area at the Cove this saturday!!! I want to thank Catch 22 for thanking us on their new cd out next week!! We're currently working on a 4-way split CD. It should be out by early July. Also, we're going to the studio next week to record Raising the Roof for a couple of comps....should be cool.
MARCH 16 We had the best time at Gio's house last weekend. Some dumbass pot heads fucked stuff up...but we had a great time playing. Everyone went crazy!!! We're going to debut either one or two new songs this friday at Club Bene w/ Edna's Goldfish so check that out!!!!
MARCH 11 Guess what i saw yesterday? A Catch 22 poster at Curmudgeon records in Edison New Jersey. A cool ad for their new Cd coming out. Also, we have demo tapes on sale so if you are there ask for one! Our shows over the weekend were tiring as hell, but were so fun. We played on Friday in Leonardo, NJ w/ Lint, Pastabilities, Misuser, and Derringers. The kids went nuts when we played and physically "raised the roof" when we played that song. it was cool. A lot of people knew the words too. Hehe. On Saturday we played w/ Pastabilities, OCG, Bigger Thomas, and Edna's Goldfish and that was probably one of our most fun shows in a while. For some reason we just had a lot of fun. Check us out at Gio's basement this weekend! Oh yeah, no pins yet...
MARCH 4 Hey guys...no pins or t's yet...jeez...soon. We sold out of tapes again today and we're going to get some more made for the weekend. Check out our shows page because we are playing w/ some great bands. Hopefully this weekend we will hit 300 tapes sold...in 4 weeks! We're excited about that...that's a lot of tapes in 4 weeks. We were also asked to do a split 7inch and play some shows in CT but we'll see what's going on with those in the near future. later.
FEBUARY 25 Hey everyone...back to tell you about another show. We had a great time at the Cove last saturday and all the bands were great! We played a new song...and everyone went nuts so that was fun to watch. The t-shirt design is coming along and should be done by the end of the weekend...hehe. pins have been ordered...hehe. ?
FEBUARY 15 Shit..didn't update in a while..sorry. Well, the show on the 7th was so great! Everyone had so much fun and our demo (which premiered on that day), totally sold out...hehe. we've got more so check the merchandise page for mailing info. I7 rules. We're playing w/ catch 22, derringers, adam's not funny, pastabilities and others at the cove on the 21st. Rail 16 is recording next wednesday. De-praved Azriel is recording a week later. Brian (the man) Methner wants to sing for a ska band..contact...i guess..(732) 821-8998 FEBUARY 1 We're not doing the 7 inch. Instead, we're selling a demo tape w/ the four songs that were going to be on there as well as 1 live song. It's going to be $3. Look for it on the 7th when we play with Inspector 7! We played on friday w/ Adam's Not Funny (our boys), Depraved Azriel (our other boys), and Rail 16 (we thought we were boys then they stabbed us in the back like a bunch of MTV-lovin rock stars). It was a lot of fun. Catch 22 finally updated the old web page and it looks pretty nice. Depraved Azriel is going to record very soon....
JANUARY 25 Hey everyone. We played last night at a part at the Sheraton hotel. Nobody danced and we completely cleared the room but we did make $80 and tried out some new songs so overall it was an ok night. Rail 16 and De-praved Azriel were awesome last night. Come to gio's to see us /w the above bands as well as adam's not funny, the derringers, and youth ahead. JANUARY 19 Our page for sounds is coming along. It looks like i'm going to have to post .wav files unless someone can help me with real audio. We played two fun shows this weekend. Friday, we played w/ the Pastabilities who were a great bunch of guys and we had lots of fun. Saturday, we played our best show ever and had the most fun we ever had playing. We gave away free tapes, and the live tape we recorded there will be a special demo available only at our show on Feb. 7 w/ inspector 7 and skinnerbox. Oh yeah, by the way, we got that show. We're also playing the Stone Pony on Feb. 21 w/ Edna's Goldfish and our buddies bigger thomas. see ya there! Rumor has it that the Catch 22 CD will be out March 24. that's pretty quick. Faster than it takes them to update their web page...smack!
JANUARY 16 Alright, the recording is sent out and everything seems to being going as planned. We're generally a happy bunch right now. I'm soon going to add a sound page to the web page. If anyone can help me out with real audio please e-mail me at waste@aol.com. We have two great shows this weekend and they will be our first shows w/ scott so please go check them out! We also got interviewed by an online zine called Skank Zine, to check it out click here. We're also working on our t-shirt design, so be prepared to see them for sale in febuary. Catch 22's CD should be out in April. Check their web page for info! Rail 16 is playing 3 shows this weekend so be sure to see them if you haven't yet. They also have a new bassist. Rumor has it that De-praved Azriel is going to work on a split 7-inch with Mohawk Barbie. That's pretty cool...
JANUARY 5 As you've probably noticed, we are the #1 website on the IRC #SKA webring!!! We're going back to the studio to mix friday...i'm very excited. We got a whole buttload of shows the other day (well, 3) and we're excited about those. More people can finally get to hear us. We're going to be interviewed for an online zine and get distribution in Texas (awesome) thanks to Ned (who's definately getting a thank you on the 7 inch).
JANUARY 3 WE RECORDED! We went into the studios last night for 6 and 1/2 hours and recorded 5 songs. 4 will go onto a 7 inch and the 5th will be sent out to a bunch of comps. we have to go back and mix next week...but everything went well... CATCH 22 has signed to VICTORY RECORDS! From what i hear it is a 4 album / 4 year deal. Good luck guys!
DECEMBER 30 Sorry i haven't been keeping everyone up to date... To start off...i just want to say that i'm not allowed to comment about Catch 22 and their prospective...umm...well, if you've asked me then you know as much as i do... We're recording Friday at Subteranian sounds in Long Branch! Finally we can send our DAT off to Rude Girl Records... We played a basement show last week w/ Depraved Azriel and Rail 16. we had a lot of fun and saw a lot of new faces even though i caused a big drumming problem...but we'll forget that happened.
DECEMBER 11 Ok...finally off my high-horse from last saturday. the show was great. Everyone danced. when mike broke a string during the second song i asked everyone in the crowd how they were doing and i got a loud yell..so i said, "give me a loud yeah!". and they did it..hehe. I said, "give me a professor plum". they did it. I said, "raise the roof" and they did the hand motion. so, they like us i think. before the last song i said that the best dancers get a sticker and everybody was trying to get them. also, for the last song, MR. EVIL, some people were actually singing the lyrics and i put the mic in their face and they sang the chorus. it was a great night. Foil played after us and they kicked major ass...much better than i've ever seen them play before. Studebakers were ok...too long of a set. I got pissed at Bigger Thomas before the show because they are big time rock stars so we didn't stay for them. later.
DECEMBER 3 Check it out..i made the writing white...hehe. Professor Plum is still playing the Pony on Saturday even though we are having a small dilema.... Catch 22 is playing the Cove December 13 w/ the Royalties and the Derringers and other NJ ska favorites. go check that out. Rock, Star wrote some new songs lately so be sure to check them out to hear those tunes.
DECEMBER 1 Hey everyone. i didn't go to the amnesty show but i heard it was great! Guess what? Jess and I have been together for 5 months now! yeah! We're gearing up for the big show at the pony...you better go wankers. we're also recording sometime within the next two weeks! Who wants to hear about my personal life? well, i quit Toys 'R Us and out of nowhere my telemarketing (my old employer) called me and asked if i would come back for more money...so...i got a new job! The Essex County college show was cancelled...i had nothing to do with that...turns out the school wasn't too crazy 'bout the idea. Rumor has it that you 'monkeys' haven't been checking out the Catch 22 web page! they are one of my favorite locals and Thom is like a brother to me. Go to the links page and see what's goin on w/ them. De-praved Azriel and Rail 16 are playing Maxwells in Hoboken w/ the Derringers + more TBA on Dec. 21.
NOVEMBER 29 We kind of renovateed all of our old songs just cleaning them up and stuff and we worked on a new song today. a good day. you better come see us saturday!
NOVEMBER 28 Sorry about that...i went to Model UN in New Brunswick so i've been away or occupied for a while. now...at the request of THOM KALNOCKY: Professor Plum has another freaking sax player. His name is Steve and he's da bomb..really good. Not sure wether we'll have 2 or 3 now. We'll see. Go to Ivan and Joel's show saturday at the Masonic Temple in Metuchen to see all the best New Brunswick bands...worthless, degenericks, storm shadow, fanshen, and you and i! all proceeds go to amnesty international. The Catch 22 home video is on the way from Fox Entertainment and is going to feature behind the scenes footage of Catch 22 as well as their live show at Madison Square Garden. Tommorrow I'll get pictures of us puny kids up on the web page. Yuck..i have to work tommorrow at TOYS R US and the kids are going to kick my white ass. BTW, there is no catch 22 video..it was a joke. they are cool, though, and might actually update their web page this week..owhhh.
NOVEMBER 16 I went to the Cove again last night to see Worthless and the Studebakers. Well, the same kids were there and one plowed into my girlfriend on purpose because they recognised us. They were still swinging each other around even to Foil...oh well. We've been asked to play a ton of hall shows (well, 3) in january so look for those soon when we get more info. Also, we're playing at Essex county college. I'll also give you more info on that one when i get it. De-praved Azriel is probably putting out a 7 inch on dipstick records. congrats! Rock, Star played with Converge last week in front of like 300 kids at Manville and got a great response. Look for the demo around...actually tell ivan to make more...that lazy ass.
NOVEMBER 15 Uggghh...yesterday was so frustrating. We went to the Cove in Roselle to see De-praved Azriel and Rail 16. The other bands sucked but i had fun watching DA. When Rail 16 played, these dumbass kids that told me they come to cove every friday started windmilling and pogoing and kicking each other, etc. really immature assholes. Then, some "skinhead" (who told me he had a mohawk and leather jacket 2 weeks ago but decided to "shave down") ran in jeff desantis' sister and made her bleed. That's fucked up! Then Jeff asked him to come over and appologise and the kid said that he should expect that kind of stuff to happen and that she shouldn't come to shows. Fuck him! If that's what it's about then...i don't know. The point is, he didn't say i'm sorry and you should all watch out for those idiots there if you go. They are all wearing mall bought OPIVY shirts... Ok..sorry. Professor Plum has a new sax player! his name is mexican mike and he rules...well, he's ok.
NOVEMBER 9 I'm trying to do a show again...this time, though, i'm getting the hall for free so i can't fuck up w/ the money. well, it's december 20th in East Brunswick at a fire house and i haven't booked any bands other than the studebakers so if you are interested e-mail me. We're doing a 7 inch with Rude Girl Records. We're going to record later this month and hopefully it will be out ASAP.
NOVEMBER 7 I have so much to say and i don't want to even say it. First, Depraved Azriel is playing the Cove next friday, the 14th. go support them! also, they are going to the studio to record some new tracks...they rule. Professor Plum is also going to do some recording for compilations and a demo. look for that. gio and ross rented out a hall for the 6th of december and are getting some phat bands...go support. Catch 22 is also saving up to go to the studio. they've got some big shows coming up so go to their web page to see what's going on by clicking here! Rock, Star is also playing some shows comin up. E-mail Ivan for info! Oh yeah, i almost forgot to mention Rail 16. They are an alterna-ska band from East Brunswick similar to Punch Buggy Blue (rip) and they played with Plum the other day. OCTOBER 31 Yesterday we played the ol' Pony. The crowd did not dance at all. But after we got off the stage almost every person in there (except for 50's kitchen who made fun of us) came up to us and shook our hands and told us we were good. it was really cool.
